Mirka Brožová
Founder and Executive Director
Mirka founded the Carlsbad Montessori School in September 2021. She has been teaching 1st grade elementary school students since 2003 and studied Montessori pedagogy in Princeton, USA. She has extensive experience working as a director and teacher in Montessori schools. As part of her doctoral studies, she works for the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of West Bohemia in Plzen and teaches mathematics didactics in Cheb. She has written one mathematics textbook for 3rd year elementary students. Mirka also works as a class teacher and loves spending time with children.
Fraser Chirnside
Teacher of English Language
Fraser is a New Zealander who has been living and teaching English in Karlovy Vary for the past 5 years. He has experience teaching students of all ages. With a professional background in design, media and communications, Fraser not only brings natural creative elements to the language curriculum, but also to the school operations as a whole. CMS is the only elementary school in Karlovy Vary with a full-time, native english speaking, male teacher, presenting a unique opportunity for all of our students to be immersed in the language from a young age.
Michaela Houšková
Teaching assistant and educator
Míša studied pedagogy with a focus on art and drama education in Ústí nad Labem. She completed the educational programs Specifics of Communication with Clients with Visual and Hearing Impairments, Conflict Resolution Course and Basic Standard of Health Knowledge for Educational Workers. Since 2014, she has worked as a teacher’s assistant in the first grade of elementary school and as a teacher in a school group. After the birth of her two children, she became intensely interested in Montessori pedagogy and alternative education. She loves nature, working with people and tourism.
